How to verify NIN online
We want to share with you steps to easily verify your NIN online from the verification portal, because we understand that most Nigerians are trying hard to verify their NIN.

- –now you should Click on the ‘Verify NIN’ option.
- – you should just Type in your 12-digit NIN inside the space they have
- – not done yet, you should just Type in the security code in the next space . (remember that this is a code that you should have received)
- – go through the information you have entered, look for errors and omit them.
- – Click the ‘Submit’ icon after you are done entering the details above.
How do I enrol for NIN?

Let’s show you some of the required documents you should have when going for NIN enrollment at any of the NIMC Enrolment Centre. First you could go with your BVN, this cover a lot or rather just any of the listed documents below:
- Old National ID Card
- Driver’s License
- Voter’s card (Temporary or Permanent)
- Nigerian International passport
- Certificate of Origin
- Attestation letter from a prominent ruler in your community
- Birth certificate
- Declaration of age
- Attestation letter from religious/traditional leader
- NHIS ID card
- Government staff ID card
- Registered/recognized private organization staff ID card
- School ID Card (private/public)
- Tax Clearance certificate
- Valid immigration documents
Step 1:
There is a pre-enrolment form you have to fill, this form is online, after you must have filled it, you should download it and then get the Pre Enrolment Slip printed.
The next line of action require that you accurately Fill the NIMC Pre Enrolment online form, you do this by visiting Pre Enrolment Portal. https://nimc.gov.ng/preenrolment-online/
Note that you are requested to submit or enter all details that they request from you, get them fill into the form.
Then Download and print your Pre Enrolment Slip

This is the submission stage, so Submit Your Application
You just visit the closest NIMC Registration Centre, while going there you should go with documents listed for this purpose
According to NIMC , when you get to the center their staffs are there waiting for you, the officer in charge will go through your details on the form to validate it they are correct.
If eventually your details are authentic, an officer will help capture your finger print which is mandatory, please note that your 10 fingers print should be correctly captured.
Please don’t fail to ask them for the Transaction ID Slip as this will serve as an evidence of the transaction and for future reference.
Note :
When an Applicants is not literate enough to be able to communicate through writing or even reading up something written down, it is best someone guide him or her through while filling the form.
While those who are still Minor, their parents should please take them to the enrollment centre not to leave them to themselves, especially when they are filling the form.
When a Minor tries to get registered its important they come to the center with a valid birth certificate and more also the NIN slip of their mother or father or rather a Guardian
Step 3:
NIN issuance
You have to wait a little while, but normally within 3 weeks to 4 weeks your print out that contains your NIN should be ready. You should know that the process is slow and the queue are soo long.
There are some rare cases where the NIN is out like in 3 days time but this is not the case every time as validation of details must be carried out from the end point of NIMC.
The temporary Transaction ID Slip which we asked you to keep, this should note be thrown away as it will be used to track your original print out and important details.
Due to the recent increase of banditry and crime rate in the country, the Federal Nigerian Government is trying to get all Nigerians registered for NIN and get it linked to their mobile number to help ascertain and know who is making use of a particular number,
failure to comply to this directive from the government will not be taken slightly anymore as the government has decided to cut off those who has not linked their SIM off from the network.
It is on record that over 125 million SIMs have been successfully link but there are more SIMs that have not been linked.
