Universities in the country now go extra-miles towards ensuring that their students are provided with all the facilities they need to have a successful spell all through their academic programmes.
Many Nigerian Universities are known for their awesome and incredible academic excellence, and one of them is the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, located in Anambra state. Let’s quickly provide you with all the information you need to know about the Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
In this post, we shall be revealing the history of the school, faculties and departments, school fees, admission procedures and many other information that you must know either as an admission seeker, a fresher or a returning student.
We can’t discuss the history of the university without mentioning the defunct Anambra State University of Technology (ASUTECH). AUSTECH, which was created in 1980 by the Old Anambra state government, was one of the two state universities in the country as at that time.
However, the old Anambra was split into two states (Anambra and Enugu states) which led to the end of ASUTECH in the state. Having split the old Anambra into two states, two of ASUTECH’s campuses (Akwa and Nnewi) fell into the land that belongs to the new Anambra state. So, they were amalgamated to form the Nnamdi Azikiwe University in 1991.
The federal government of Nigeria, under the leadership of late Nnamdi Azikiwe, took over the management of the University in 1992, and it became a federal government-owned tertiary institution since then.
